Accessibility Monitor
Continuous accessibility monitoring for public sector websites. This live demo runs a real automated scan of an Irish local authority's homepage in seconds and grades it against EN 301 549 (WCAG 2.1 AA), the standard Irish public bodies must meet under the EU Web Accessibility Directive.
What this checks. Automated checks on the homepage HTML: image alt text and file-name alt, form-field labels, link and button names, vague link text, a skip-to-content link, page language and title, heading structure, landmarks, duplicate ids, frame titles, positive tabindex and viewport zoom. What it can't: colour contrast, keyboard operation, ARIA correctness and content added by JavaScript, which need a manual review, which is exactly the OBL service. Automated testing can only disprove conformance, never prove it. Homepage only. A review, not a formal audit.
